Durring the vitual surgery i learned about how much weight the knee has to take every day nearly 5x the amount of the persons weight. It also talked about how much better the mans life was going to be know without all of that pain but it surprised me that it would only take 3 to 4 days in the hospital.

i learned that in knee surgery your tibia femur and patella are cut with a bonesaw and reshaped with artificial peices they are kept on by a cement mix i also learned that people average about 5000 steps a day thats crazy!

I learned that our knee takes in a lot of weight throughout the day. The fake knees the people put in can stand up to 5x the person’s body weight. Sewing a person’s cut back up is less painful than stapling the cut closed. Once the surgery is done the person has to have 5-6 months of physical therapy.

From the surgery i learned the knee and legs take alot of our weight. 5x to be exact. In the knee you need crucial components for a replacement. Also before a sugery you need to compare a healthy persons vital compared to the patients. That will tell you if you can go through with the surgery. Lastly you will need 5-6 months of physical thereapy to heal it all back up.

I learned that our knee is the largest joint in our body and needs to hold 5 times the amount of our body weight. They shape the bones by cutting off the parts that don’t need to be there. Then the put tester metal plates on it to see if it is the right fit, then they put the actual ones on and they are ready to close up the knee. I also learned that when you draw the incision line you also draw perpendicular lines, that makes it easier to stitch back up when the surgery is over. When the surgery is over doctors like to use the stitching way because it is less painful for the patient. They are in the hospital for 3 days and then may have to take physical therapy for up to 5 to 6 months.

I learned that is a lot more to a knee surgery, then i thought there was. The knee needs to be able to hold our weight times 5. Women are more prone to have knee surgery on then men. They just reshape the joints in the knees. Before they start they have to cut the of the blood flow and they use a thing called tourniquet. Then they make your knee orange. Make the marks on the knee and then take the scuptler and cut it open. Then largest joint in the body is the knee. watching that was pretty interesting.

What I learned while i was doing the knee surgery was that they had to stay in the hospital and then 8-9 weeks of therapy. Plus it takes 5x more the body weight. I also learned that there are three bones in the knee that you have to replace and they are called the femur,tibia,patella.Plus there is cartilage in the knee too.

while i did this sergery i learned that all sorts of toold u ha ve to use during a sergery. i also learned that you have to get some of your knee cut off. then the last thing i really learned was that after this guy was done he has to stay in the hospital for 3 days and then he has sergery for 8 weeks.

While Performing this Virtual Knee Surgery I learned that they have to take extra precaution during this surgery and have to be careful on every step they take. With this new knee they can take millions of more steps than before and will have increased mobility! During this surgery they actually cut off some of your bone. After they successfully place the prosthetic knee in place they have to be careful on sewing the knee back. They have to make sure the knee is aligned properly so it does not cause trouble in the future.

I learned that before you can put the new knee in you have to cut out some of the bone marrow. I also learned that the patient will be in physical theropy for 3 to 6 weeks. Also that the knee takes up to 5x the weight of the body.

I learned in the virtual knee surgery that its manditory to check the persons vital signs to make ssure they are healthy enough to go through the surgery. Also anahesiologists put medicine through the IV and masks during the surgery. The drugs are to keep the pacient from moving, making patient forget about the surgery and to make them happy. The tourniquet cuts the blood flow off to the leg so its easier to see the bones along with positioning the leg at a 90 degree angle so the bones are easier to view.So many steps are taking in replacing a knee becaus in proper alignment could produce many complications for the patient. The two tibial components ate inserted sepretaly so the plastic spacers can be replaced if it is worn down without replacing the metal parts. The primaty difference between sature and staplers to close the incision is satures cause less scaring the the staplers. Patients stay in the hospital for about 3 days after the surgery. And the new knee needs to withstand 5 times the weight of a persons every step.
